Some tips to for adding photos to boost your Internet profile.

Photos are a great way to further tell your story when it comes to your online profile. By adding photos that show you doing things you enjoy, potential dates will get a better sense of what you'd be like to go out with. The first priority is the main headshot. Once you have that in place, add two to four more photos (depending on how many the site you’re using will allow) that will add context.

1) Add a full-body shot

Make sure at least one of the secondary photos you add is a full-body shot. Aim for a confident yet relaxed look. No stiff shots of you or pictures where you appear impatient or annoyed. Full-body pictures show a bit of your body language, and all these subtleties add to the impression a potential date will make about you.

2) Let photos show your interests

Use photos that show you out doing something you enjoy. Find pictures with subject matter that will make potential dates take interest. Think about your hobbies, the things you like to do in your free time, and the vacations you've taken – and try to add pictures that convey these interests.

3) Make sure no one else is in the picture

Never put a picture on your profile that has someone else besides you in it. You may think that photo with you and the guys is a great one, but placing a picture that has anyone else in it will only serve to take attention away from you. With online dating, you have a limited time to make an impression, so don't waste it by having a potential date figure out who you are. Make sure you are the only one in the photo – no friends, pets, or ex’s.

4) Show your face and smile

Make sure your face is clearly visible in any photo you post, even one that is primarily a full-body shot. Sunglasses should be off if you can help it. If a potential date has to strain at all to see your face they may lose interest and move on to the next profile.

5) Use photos that show your unique personality

As far as subject matter, imagine that someone is following you along on a casual weekend. What kinds of things would you be doing? What stops would you make? Use these as ideas to show your personality. The one thing I've learned from helping people rewrite their profiles is that every one of us has a busy and interesting life. The key is to show that side of your personality with photos.
